Aligning Improvement with Vision, Mission, and Values: A Logic Model Approach

In this interactive session, we will explore how a logic model can bridge the gap between abstract concepts, like vision, mission, and values, and measurable improvements. The logic model serves as a visual representation of the relationships between resources, activities, outputs, and results. By incorporating foundational elements such as vision, mission, and values, organizations can ensure that their improvement efforts are grounded in their core purpose and principles.

We will begin by discussing why vision, mission, and values matter when pursuing improvement. These guiding principles provide the foundation for strategic direction and decision-making. By understanding how they shape organizational efforts, leaders can align their improvement initiatives with long-term goals.

Next, we will demonstrate how to map vision, mission, and values to quantifiable measures and indicators, helping organizations visualize how their guiding principles translate into practical results. We will also address the challenge of measuring abstract concepts, offering methods to quantify vision, mission, and values to ensure they are consistently reflected in improvement strategies.

Throughout the session, we will provide practical examples and opportunities for participants to brainstorm how to measure and integrate their own organization’s vision, mission, and values.
